Stephen Ross Wine Collection

The Winter Wine Series continues at Barnsley Garden Resort in Adairsville, Georgia on March 26, 2011 at 7 PM featuring the Stephen Ross Wine Collection. Special guest speaker for the evening will be Stephen Ross Dooley, Winemaker of Stephen Ross Wine Cellars. The evening includes a delectable full course meal with wine pairings with each course.

February Dinner Theatre

Abraham LincolnEnjoy dinner and a show at the 1902 Stock Exchange and Public Square Opera House on February 18, 2011 at 7 PM. Abe Lincoln’s America is a look into the lives of Abe and Mary Todd Lincoln. From their courtship to the presidency, the story is delivered in a humorous and entertaining way. With audience participation, it will be a fun way to learn and be inspired by the lives of our country’s 16th president.

The Scrapbook

Christmas DecorationsThe Pumphouse Players presents a Christmas play titled, The Scrapbook – A Modern Day Christmas Carol in nearby Cartersville, Georgia at the Legion Theater on December 17 and 18, 2010. This play is about a family’s struggles through some hard times and how through it all they remember the real meaning and blessings of the Christmas season. It was written by local playwright and longtime member of the Pumphouse Players, Ray Fast and directed by Laura Demain.

Showtimes are 7 PM. Tickets are $15 reserved, $12 for students, seniors and PHP members, and $18 at the door. This is the last weekend to see it so mark your calendars! For reservations and information, contact the Pumphouse Players at: 770-387-2610.

Screamers Haunted House

Haunted HouseThis is the last weekend for Screamers Haunted House in nearby Cartersville, Georgia. This haunted house has attracted people from all over who really like being spooked. The house is at the American Legion Carl Boyd Post 42 Fairgrounds and is open on Friday and Saturday, October 29 and 30, 2010 from 7 PM to Midnight and Sunday October 31, at 6 PM. Montgomery Gentry in Concert

You won’t want to miss the award winning Country Music duo Montgomery Gentry in concert on October 23, 2010 at 4 PM in nearby Rome, Georgia. The concert is going to be held at the State Mutual Stadium. Tickets are on sale now and range from $35 to $50. They can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Montgomery Gentry has been on the Country Music scene for more than 10 years and have several chart topping songs like “My Town”, “If you Every Stop Loving Me”, and “Lucky Man” just to name a few. Not only are they great musicians but real humanitarians as well, participating in many charity events.

Great Locomotive Chase Festival

It’s time to celebrate the 42nd annual Great Locomotive Chase Festival in downtown Adairsville on the historic square on October 1 – 3, 2010. Come on down and check out the arts and crafts, food, and entertainment. The Little Mr. and Miss Festival pageant begins Friday night at 6 PM. Enjoy the parade on Saturday morning at 11 AM. The Miss Festival and Junior Miss Festival pageant starts at 3 PM on Saturday. Don’t forget your dancing shoes as there will be a street dance Friday and Saturday night from 8 PM to 11 PM. There will be Gospel singing on Sunday. Make sure to stop by the Age of Steam Rail Depot Museum and be entertained by the festival activities taking place there. The museum will be offering heritage craft demonstrations such as basket weaving, quilting and much more.

The festival is open Friday and Saturday 8 AM to 11 PM, Sunday 12 Noon to 5 PM. Admission for the festival is $3 for everyone 6 and up. Sunday admission is FREE.  For more details and information contact 770-773-3451, ext 26.
